Shaping Sensible Growth: Reno Planning Commission-City Council Joint Meeting on Data Centers Confirmed
With the date set, the focus now turns to outcomes that serve residents, applicants, innovation, and the future of our community.
After months of coordination and continued public interest, I’m pleased to share that the long-awaited joint meeting between the Reno Planning Commission and City Council focused on data centers is officially scheduled for Wednesday, October 1st.
Since early spring, I’ve been in active conversation with our City Manager, City Council, fellow Planning Commissioners, and other stakeholders to help bring this meeting to life. As we look ahead to October, my focus now turns to continuing collaborative work with city leadership, residents, and industry partners to align around clear, thoughtful goals and outcomes, so that this isn’t just a meeting about data centers, but a meaningful step toward sensible policy and shared understanding.
This meeting isn’t the end of the road - it’s a timely opportunity to ensure our approach to data centers is both business- and innovation-friendly and resident-responsible, grounded in public values, long-term planning and real transparency.
More to come as the agenda takes shape - and as always, thank you for staying engaged. I hope you’ll continue to stay curious, stay involved, and help shape what comes next.
